The Brief
Create a tool to help North American audiences get to know ethnic groups around the world. The goal is to remove the sense of "other" and help audiences imagine real personalities and life situations, taking descriptions of foreign groups out of the abstract realm and into concrete reality.

Solution
A set of videos, photographs, and web stories tell ethnographic stories and day-in-the-life snapshots of real people. So far, the series has covered Hindus in North India, Muslims in North India, and a Muslim ethnic group in Indonesia. The videos are intentionally short and depend solely on SOT and subject interviews to help contribute to a more intimate introduction to people who would have otherwise been very foreign to the audience.
